Website terms and professional disclaimer
Terms
of Use.
These terms govern access to DowntownVancouver.ca and explain the site’s role, limitations and relationship with participating providers.
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using DowntownVancouver.ca, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
Role of DowntownVancouver.ca
DowntownVancouver.ca is an independent local services platform that organizes selected service categories and presents one participating provider in each recognized category. It is not an open directory, booking service, referral agency, professional regulator or provider of professional services.
The website provides general information intended to help visitors identify and compare service categories. It does not determine whether a provider or service is appropriate for a particular person, business, transaction, claim, condition or circumstance.
Participating providers and paid recognition
A participating provider may pay for exclusive category recognition, profile development, placement and related services. Exclusivity means that DowntownVancouver.ca presents one recognized participating provider within the defined category while the applicable relationship remains in effect.
Recognition reflects the site’s editorial and commercial selection process. It is not a certification, guarantee, professional endorsement or representation that a provider is the best, lowest-cost or only suitable provider. Visitors remain responsible for evaluating qualifications, licensing, insurance, experience, fees, availability and suitability.
No professional advice or professional relationship
Content on DowntownVancouver.ca is general information only. It is not medical, dental, legal, accounting, tax, financial or other professional advice and should not be relied upon as such.
Using this website, viewing a provider profile, clicking a link or sending DowntownVancouver.ca an email does not create a dentist-patient, healthcare-provider-patient, lawyer-client, accountant-client, fiduciary, agency or other professional relationship. A professional relationship may arise only through direct agreement with the selected provider.
For emergencies or urgent health, safety or legal matters, contact the appropriate emergency service, regulator or qualified professional directly.
Accuracy, currency and availability
We seek to present clear and current information, but provider details, services, fees, licensing status, availability, service areas and external content may change. DowntownVancouver.ca does not warrant that the website or any information is complete, accurate, current, uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
We may add, revise, suspend or remove categories, profiles, links or website functions without notice.
Independent providers and external links
Participating providers are independent from DowntownVancouver.ca. Each provider is solely responsible for its professional services, advice, conduct, personnel, licensing, insurance, privacy practices, fees, scheduling and contractual relationships.
Links to provider or third-party websites are supplied for convenience. DowntownVancouver.ca does not control and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, accessibility, privacy practices or terms.
Permitted use and intellectual property
You may use this website for lawful, personal or internal business purposes. You must not interfere with site operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape or reproduce substantial portions of the site, misrepresent an affiliation, or use site content to create a competing database or service without written permission.
Unless otherwise stated, the website’s design, original text, graphics, organization and branding are owned by or licensed to DowntownVancouver.ca and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Provider names, logos and materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DowntownVancouver.ca and its owners, operators and contributors will not be liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on site content, selection or use of a provider, professional services, external websites, interruption, security incidents, data loss, or inability to access the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Privacy
Information handling is governed by the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes and severability
We may update these terms by publishing a revised version on this page. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
