THE ORGANIZATION WE RECOGNIZE

Every child deserves
the opportunity to create.

For a young person, music can be much more than learning an instrument. It can be a place to feel heard, find confidence, build friendships and discover a new way to express themselves.

The Sarah McLachlan School of Music provides free after-school music education for children and youth who face barriers to accessing traditional programs. At its Vancouver location in Mount Pleasant, students learn, make music and grow alongside professional musicians in a supportive community.

DowntownVancouver.ca has chosen to recognize the school for the opportunities it creates for young people in our city. This space is here to help more people discover its work.
